Driven to Protect: Our Training Philosophy
At JML Transit, our training philosophy is built on the belief that safe, respectful, and accessible transportation should be available to every rider we serve. We prepare each future team member to act with care, professionalism, and responsibility from day one, making safety and accessibility the foundation of every trip.
Our training will focus on the unique needs of Pre-K students, individuals with disabilities, and shuttle riders across colleges, universities, medical campuses, and other large community campuses. Through specialized instruction, JML Transit will emphasize rider care, clear communication, safe driving practices, emergency awareness, and the importance of creating a transportation experience built on trust, patience, and respect.

📋 New Driver Permit & CDL Preparation
JML Transit plans to support new driver candidates through structured training designed to help them prepare for the Commercial Learner’s Permit and future CDL requirements. This training would focus on building the knowledge, confidence, and safe driving habits needed before operating a JML Transit vehicle.
Training may include classroom-style instruction, permit preparation, safety expectations, customer service, route awareness, vehicle familiarization, and decision-making behind the wheel. Drivers would also receive guidance on basic maneuvering, pre-trip responsibilities, and how to make safe go/no-go decisions before and during service.
🚀 Entry-Level Bus Driver Training
JML Transit’s future entry-level driver training would be built around safety, professionalism, and compliance with applicable transportation regulations. The goal would be to prepare drivers with the tools they need to safely serve Pre-K students, individuals with disabilities, and campus shuttle riders.
Training may include current safety practices, student and passenger care, vehicle procedures, communication expectations, emergency preparedness, and hands-on instruction from qualified trainers. Drivers would also receive feedback and support throughout the training process to help them grow into safe, confident, and dependable transportation professionals.
